Burek so Sirenje - Cheese Filo Pie

Where I come from this is the ultimate breakfast!! Everyone has a slice of burek. Whether you're on your way to work, school or a busy day of running errands, you can't resist the smell of fresh burek coming out of the town bakeries.

I had a craving for one this morning... And what's a girl to do? :-D Gotta buckle down and make some. Oh and trust me, this will make your house smell like a nice little bakery. Better than any candle for sure :-)

Serves 4

Ingredients:

- 250g filo pastry
- 250g feta cheese, crumbled
- 8tbs plain yogurt
- a pinch of salt and pepper
- half a cup of water
- 4tbs butter, melted
- olive oil

Process:

Preheat your oven to 190 C degrees. In a bowl mix the cheese, yogurt, salt and pepper. Lay a filo sheet with the long side towards you, generously sprinkle some water and oil with your fingers and spoon a few tablespoons of the filling.

Carefully fold it into a roll. Place it into the middle of a round pan. Don't worry if the pastry breaks, just try to line it up in a tight roll. Repeat the process until the pan is full. Brush the pie with melted butter.

Bake the pie for about 25-30min or until it looks like this. Let it cool down for about 10min.

Slice it into 4 equal pieces and enjoy!
